Tonkin Wins Landmark Contract in Victoria
Adelaide civil engineering firm, Tonkin Consulting has won a major role in a $300 million water project in central Victoria. This landmark win for the company developed from Tonkin’s work with SA Water.
In association with the lead consultant Connell Wagner (Victoria), Tonkin will lead several specialist South Australian firms involved in developing the Wimmera Mallee Pipeline Project. Work will span the next 10 years.
Tonkin will be directly responsible for developing concepts and associated technical innovations for a pipeline solution; the preliminary design and all water-related engineering aspects of the project; and detailed design and documentation for the piping project final solution.
The purpose of the project is to convert the current ‘open channel’ system of water delivery to an enclosed piping system, delivering water from the Grampians to more than 40 towns in the Wimmera Mallee region. In land area this constitutes more than 10% of the total a...
