Young Achivement in Enterprise Skills
Established in 1977, Young Achievement Australia is an independent non-government not-for-profit organisation administered by a board of trustees.
YAA operates nationally through a network of state and regional offices, and is affiliated internationally with Junior Achievement operations in 80 countries around the world.
All students are welcome to access YAA programs, which are for secondary and tertiary students, for youth at risk and unemployed and for aboriginal and disadvantaged groups. Around half of YAA program delivery takes place in non-metropolitan regions. YAA programs are free of charge to participants.
More than 125,000 young people have participated in YAA programs Australia-wide since its inception. About 20,000 students enrolled in 2000-2002 programs. The aim is to link education with business to provide young people with skills and knowledge to better equip them for their working lives.
