Genii Takes the Cake
Under the motto The Sky’s the Limit, the University of Adelaide’s E—Challenge 2003 drew its strongest ever field of proto—business talent in its third annual incarnation.
The Adelaide University Entrepreneurs’ Challenge jointly staged by Adelaide University and Hewlett—Packard Australia Limited, is a business planning competition based on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s ‘MIT $50K’ event.
Five teams contested the E—Challenge 2003 final. Forty six teams began the process (nine more than 2002) which involved a series of heats. The aim is to convince a judging panel that the business proposal is worthy of very substantial venture capital investment. Teams are judged on their business plan document and their pitch technique. The winning team received prizes to the value of $50,000, the second team $17,000 and the third $6,000
