Jonker back at work – selling SA
Newly—crowned 2004 Jacob’s Creek Tour Down Under champion, Patrick Jonker, might have thought he was retiring after his recent victory but Premier, Mike Rann, has already given him a new job. Patrick has agreed to be a tourism ambassador for SA. In April the 34—year—old from Morphett Vale will return to Belgium where he has been based for much of the past 12 years as a professional cyclist. As a tourism ambassador for SA in Europe he will be involved in SA marketing initiatives throughout Europe, in particular at this year’s Tour de France
New model ambassador for SA
Los Angeles—based model and actress Kate Fischer has agreed to become a tourism ambassador for South Australia. Kate grew up in Adelaide and has returned to be the face of the recent Magic Millions Yearling Sales and Races.
BankSA senior appointments, commercial banking
Lindsay Hick has been appointed BankSA Chief Manager, Commercial Banking. Lindsay brings a wealth of experience to BankSA, with a career spanning 23 years in the finance industry. He will oversee commercial finance business development and the management of property and construction finance, business and equipment finance and strategic rural support services.
Stephen McCarthy has been appointed Senior Manager, Business and Equipment Finance. Stephen has more than 20 years’ experience in the finance industry. He will devise and implement strategies to grow BankSA’s Business and Equipment finance market.
Former BP exec joins Santos board
Former senior BP executive, Richard Michael Harding MSc, respected internationally in the oil and gas industry, has been appointed a director of Santos. Richard, 54, retired in 2003 from BP Exploration Australia where from 1996 he was President and GM of BP Developments Australia Ltd.
