KPMG finds Adelaide best base for business
An eight—month study of 11 industrial countries by financial analysts at KPMG has found Adelaide is one of the least costly cities in the world in which to set up a business. Premier Mike Rann welcomed the Report, saying the State would bring these results to the attention of big international business through a direct marketing campaign. Electronics Industry Association, Executive Director, Jason Kuchel has welcomed a comprehensive international study confirming that Adelaide is the number one place in the Australia to conduct electronic systems development and testing. Jason says Adelaide has the lowest cost and thousands of highly trained electronic engineers and scientists in hundreds of companies and research centres. The cost of electronics systems development and testing in Adelaide is more that 30% lower than the US average and lower than all of 38 non—US cities in the KPMG 2004 Competitive Alternatives Report. The combination of price, quality, performance and flexibility of the rapid growth industry now wins more sales in foreign markets than in South Australia.
