Businesswomen respond to survey, with interesting results

A cross-section of women was invited to reply to a survey that targeted home business to big business.
Of those that responded, 67% were company owners and 22% were Managers. The average length of time respondents had been in business was seven years, 41% were proprietary companies and 37% were sole traders. 67% had fewer than five staff and only 7% had over 50. So the feedback typically reflects small business. This may be why 70% advised that they use contractors either regularly or occasionally and 59% say they shoulder all the responsibilities of the business.
Taking that 59% out of the equation, the remaining respondents identified themselves as undertaking myriad roles including human resources (30%), business planning (22%), competitor analysis (15%) and budgeting & financial planning (11%). Equal at 26% were responsibilities for public relations, marketing and advertising.
