Migrants put SA to work
Adelaide‘s lifestyle and the opportunity to achieve a satisfying work-life balance are an increasingly strong drawcard for career-minded people from interstate and abroad.
Robert Walters recruitment consultants Giuseppe Nasca and Chris Tan recently relocated to Adelaide from the UK attracted to the affordable quality of life offered here.
Although both had carved out substantial and responsible jobs in London, neither feels limited within the Adelaide market. They have no plans to return but rather relish the opportunity of establishing a career in SA.
"While Sydney and Melbourne are great cities they have traffic problems, expensive housing and a hectic pace of life - the very things that motivated me to leave London and settle in Adelaide!" says Giuseppe.
Chris adds: "London has become too congested and expensive, and the birth of my first child really made me look at my life and where I was going. My wife is from Adelaide and had brought me here on holiday. I love the climate, the hills, the sea, the wine and food, friendly people and the affordable housing. The decision to relocate was an easy one."
An engineering recruitment specialist, Chris hit the ground running, attracting 12 engineering professionals to Adelaide firms in his first two months on the job.
