The Industrial Supplies Office (ISO) quietly goes about it’s business assisting importers locate local sources to replace imported goods. The ISO contributes to SA’s economic development but is often overshadowed by export news. Clearly local suppliers offer a multitude of benefits.
Where do your key components come from? That’s what the Industrial Supplies Office (ISO) asks when interacting with the business community, and in light of the recent automotive dispute in Sydney that halted an industry and demonstrated its vulnerability, the question seems reasonable.
Unfortunately, ISO finds, SA manufacturers know little about each others’ capabilities. Many buyers have a poor knowledge of Australian industry and many of our domestic manufacturers are unknown beyond their local suburb or city.
It’s the ISO’s job to help importers of goods to find suitable, and competitive, local producers where such exist in Australia.
