I Like to Add Value
When the State Government’s Business Investment website marked a 500 per cent increase in hits on its website earlier this year, the cause was obvious. In—flight commercials on Qantas and Ansett flights had just gone to air and business travellers liked what they saw.
The producer of the commercials was Steve Whitham Media, the company behind a familiar TV identity, former newsreader and AM Adelaide co—host. Steve’s infectious enthusiasm for South Australia makes him a natural ambassador, and a valuable member of our In—business team.
When Steve gave up newsreading to start his own production business in 1991 he was asked to join AM Adelaide, and accepted as a means of easing his own start—up pressure.
“TV gets into your blood. The longer you stay the less you feel like leaving,” Steve says. But as his video production business grew, he reluctantly gave up presenting in order to keep up his service to customers.
Steve’s oldest client is ETSA, for which he still produces internal videos. Gradually, the corporate video work expanded and diversified into training, notably occupational health and safety work. Lately, he has ventured into interactive CD—ROM production, including work for the Royal Adelaide Hospital’s Oncology Department; he produced an information CD for cancer patients.
