school's in for young executives
As any golfer knows, losing golf balls is a hazard of the game, but some Marryatville High School students may be able to fix that expensive problem—all they need to do now is set up a factory to manufacture their invention.
As for establishing their company, drafting a business plan, installing a CEO and senior management and all the other aspects of running a business, the students have “ been there done that” during Australian Business Week run throughout Australia last month.
At total of 90 MHS students took part, not only establishing their ‘findable’ golf ball company, but others manufacturing electronically controlled thermal wet/dry suits, tennis rackets with unusual grips, ‘smerfboards” and a range of fashionable denim clothing.
Mentors, parents with business experience and volunteers from the broader eastern suburbs’ business community guided the students’ work.
