AIM launches new graduate school
In a major shake-up of SA’s higher education market, a new graduate school to be launched next year is expected to attract strong support from business.
The Australian Institute of Management (AIM) in SA is launching the Graduate School of Business (GSB) that will provide a more contemporary education environment in line with expectations of business and industry.
“There continues to be demand from managers for relevant, practical and innovative post graduate programs,” says AIM executive director, John Stokes.
“Our research in 2004 indicated that AIM SA was clearly positioned in the marketplace as offering practical business education – it was this driver that has led us to develop and commence delivery of our programs in 2005.”
AIM has consulted widely amongst its members and other industry groups to structure the entry requirements, format and content for the school.
Qualifications available through AIM GSB will be:
- Graduate Certificate in Management, from early 2005
- Graduate Diploma of Management, from mid 2005.
AIM is also planning an MBA from 2006.
AIM's Chief Executive, Mr John Stokes, believes AIM GSB will offer more respected and practical academic qualifications because it will be in touch with leading business practices.
