It’s hard to imagine international success can come from a piece of plastic not much different from a poker chip.
But that’s what plastics extrusion experts Grover Allman have achieved with their globally successful series of designer guitar picks.
The firm was founded in 1990, as a company that manufactured guitar picks for the Australian market.
After 12 months in business, the partners Kevin Grover and Duane Allman, became aware of an opportunity to purchase a fledgling pad printing business.
Years of careful business planning and management later, Grover Allman has become a leading provider of pad printing services in Australia.
It now works in two states, operations beginning in Victoria in 2004. At home in South Australia it enjoys a virtual monopoly in the marketplace.
“The company as a whole employs 14 people and boasts a client base that includes some of Australia’s highest profile organizations,” says co-founder, Kevin Grover.
“Grover Allman prints components for the white goods, automotive, electronics and air conditioning industries.
“The manufacture of guitar picks has continued and is now an increasing portion of the business.”
Grover Allman exports to more than 12 countries worldwide, with sales approaching 7 million units per annum.
Recently, Grover Allman acquired the licensing agreement for The Simpsons in the UK, USA and Australia.
