Liberals slam small business ‘Oktoberfest’
Liberal Spokesperson for Small Business Martin Hamilton-Smith has branded the Rann Government’s small business expo initiative a false positive designed to mask “three and a half years of inaction” and neglect of the sector.
The outspoken senior Liberal called Labor’s 11 May announcement of a small business expo from October 9 to October 14 “nothing more than a pre-election pork-barrelling exercise” that aims to shore up Premier Rann’s business credentials and give new Minister Karlene Maywald a platform.
“Small Business people are not stupid and call a spade a spade. Labor Government Minister Karlene Maywald’s ‘Octoberfest’ for small business will be seen for what it is — a glossy brochured spend-up of spin, balloons and election promises after years of inaction,” Mr Hamilton-Smith says.
