Record returns for Top 100
In August last year, following several months of research, ‘in-business’ magazine launched the SA Top 100 Company Index.
Graham Wakeling, publisher of ‘In-business’, says the main aim was to create an aspirational ladder of achievement and some healthy rivalry amongst locally-based businesses. Early feedback from companies talking up their intention to make it into the Top 100 SA companies "was music to my ears" he says.
"It is likely that it will take us three years to achieve a truly representative list,"Graham says.
"We expect to see some spectacular new entrants on the Top 100 Company Index for 2005 to be released on 30 September.
"We are hearing from some rapid growth companies that have started from humble beginnings.
"However, we are still very much wanting to hear from SA firms who would like to register to participate. So if your company is a candidate or if you know of a company that deserves recognition, we’d love to hear about it."
This year’s research is being supported by major sponsor BankSA, along with Deloitte, the City of Salisbury, Lifeplan Funds Management, Speakman Tanner Menzies and the Department of Trade and Economic Development.
MGF Consulting Group’s research director, Max Franchitto confirmed there has been a marked increase in interest with a significant number of calls to his office from companies interested in being considered.
