Value of business events
by Mr Graham Teague
Do you consider yourself a leader in your field? Do you have a great team around you doing fantastic work and feel like showcasing your efforts to the world? Do you have an idea for an innovative conference and/or exhibition?
To get where you are, you’ve studied extensively, put in the hard yards, and travelled widely to take in the best the world has to offer. There’s been interstate and overseas conferences, site visits, exchanges, sabbaticals and so on, all of which have contributed to your personal growth and that of your employer, and the benefits have filtered through to your staff and to colleagues across your industry.
Why not consider bringing an event to our own back yard?
You can see the benefits:
- showcasing your organisation to the nation or the world, thereby raising its profile.
- bringing together a cross-section of your industry/profession, leading to a stronger sector, and sending out the powerful message that you’re good at what you do and proud of it.
- involving a greater proportion of your staff in the event, thus exposing them to world-class practice without the additional expense of travelling away from home.
The value proposition in hosting a business event in your area of speciality is enormous – to you, your employer, your profession, your industry and your local economy. But how do you manage it if you’re flat out already?
