Top 100 CEO Interviews
Issue No. 25 - October/November 2005
It‘s a moving feast!
You have in your hand evidence of business worth around $17 billion that has been conducted by our Top 100 SA companies in the past financial year.
I am not an economist, a journalist or an analyst. I am a consummate marketer, and I know that you can't pull the wool over people's eyes! You have to produce the goods, and we have. We have worked tirelessly with minimal resources to gather the evidence that backs up the confident stance our publication takes on the prospects for SA business.
I am proud that the Top 100 SA Company Index commissioned by 'in-business' is rapidly becoming a rallying point that will help create a bigger footprint for SA business on the national scene. The detailed data we are collecting will focus more attention on the companies involved, as well as our state economy as a whole.
For example, we believe that a further 14 companies on our compilation should qualify for the BRW Top 500 Private Company list. Were that to happen it would increase the SA contingent by more than 30% in number and add around $1.7 billion in value to SA's contribution to the national earnings pool.
Research of this nature is not easy, so being “on the ground” here has huge advantages, as evidenced by our work.
Encouraging South Australian private companies to accept the acclaim due to them is critical for this state's true worth to be recognised as an important player in the national economy.
