Innovative SA company wins contract in South America
Train derailment due to wheel bearing faults is a significant issue in the rail transport industry, causing a considerable number of derailments and train stoppages annually around the world.

VIPAC Engineers and Scientists has just won a contract to supply and install its innovative RailBAM® bearing acoustic monitoring system to South American company, Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD).
The CVRD installation will be located about 100kms from the Port of Vitoria, on Brazil's east coast and service iron ore rail traffic for the Estrada de Ferro Vitória a Minas (EFVM) railway.
