Rainbow family’s patient prosperity
Back in 2002, offset printer Rainbow Press suffered a disastrous fire that gutted its plant at Dry Creek.
Rainbow is the enterprise of Hong Kong migrants the Chan family, led by the affable Jack Chan, who at the time was philosophical. It was a setback, but he was pleasantly surprised at how much help came his way. It was tough, but the company hadn’t lost much ground and would soon be back on its feet.
Almost four years on, Jack’s confidence has been borne out. The company that started with one press and two employees now, operates seven presses and employs 27 in what Jack considers an extended family.
“There are six family members working in Rainbow,” he says. “They work in different areas like production and accounts.
“I appreciate the effort of all staff here, whether family member or not, they all contribute well to our company.
