Support for innovation — what a good idea
So far this financial year, seven South Australian companies have received grants under the Australian Government’s Commercial Ready Program, according AusIndustry’s State Manager for South Australia, Brenton Pain.
Four grants of less than $500,000, including two grants announced most recently, have gone to smaller companies developing and commercialising technically superior products, processes or services.
Optimatics Pty Ltd of Parkside won a $414,545 grant to develop innovative genetic algorithms for optimising, designing and reducing water collection infrastructure costs.
In the Chair Pty Ltd of Adelaide will investigate chord and rhythm recognition technology for judging performances by polyphonic analogue musical instruments with a $445,470 grant.
Other projects to receive funding this financial year included two in the manufacturing area: Robway Crane Safety Systems Pty Ltd of Thebarton and Gliderol International Pty Ltd of Holden Hill.
