Christine Edwards
by Penelope Herbert
Adelaide corporate coach and human resources management expert, Christine Edwards, won a SA Department of Trade and Economic Development grant to attend the four-day 11th World HR Congress in Singapore 29 May to 1 June.
“I won the grant by writing a proposal highlighting the fact that companies worldwide are moving toward a knowledge based economy,” said Christine. “I seek to contribute to raising awareness of the importance of knowledge based workers to add value to any competitive organisation.”
Ms Edwards says there is a need to enhance human capital management to support all sectors of the economy especially empowering individuals and enhancing the corporate system.
Some 2000 CEOs, company directors, senior managers, HR practitioners and other decision-makers attended the conference for talks on new issues and challenges in human capital management and development.
Ms Edwards, who founded the SA Chapter of the US-based International Coach Federation, has two decades of top level HR work and staff training experience that has been rated as “impressive” by the Australian Institute of Management. Christine also exhibited at the HR Australia Showcase.
The Showcase, part of the Business Connect Exposition, was run concurrently with the Congress by Austrade, Singapore. This enabled Christine Edwards Pty Ltd to display globally to business leaders the “Straighten Up And Fly Right” and other programs developed by the company.
