Making profit connection

A great deal is spoken and written about minimising ‘expenses’ as if this is the ‘main game’ in achieving this objective.
We put it to you that the main game is not about the expense of making sales but about connectedness.
A recent Financial Review article described a human resource survey with a quote that runs something like, "64% of employees are somewhat disconnected from their job and their employer and of those, around 25% are so disconnected that they can actually sabotage the part they play in – have access to, have influence within — the business.
Where a business establishes and maintains an empowered culture, where the ‘sum of the number equates to more than the number’ — that is people are encouraged to take ownership that is not financial but motivational — then connectedness occurs!
