Strengthening Partnerships
Working in partnership can deliver tangible and sustainable results and partnerships comprising government, community and business can achieve better outcomes than any
group acting alone - In the 2001 Stronger Regions, A Stronger Australia statement, the Australian Government undertook to contribute to the development of self-reliant communities and regions through partnerships with other governments, communities and the private sector.
The Regional Partnerships program provides financial assistance to all communities across Australia to help them implement initiatives to build self-reliant communities.
Horse SA and the
State Horse Precinct
The Regional Partnerships (RP) program is designed to encourage partnerships across all levels of government, business, industry and community groups. Recently approved for RP funding, The State Horse Precinct Business Model project is just part of a broader vision for the Adelaide Showgrounds. The project has seven partners, including State and Federal government and not for profit organisations
This project will provide an opportunity for Horse SA to participate in the larger Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society's plan to upgrade the Adelaide Showgrounds, which is regularly used for horse related activities. The refurbishment of the site will include a 'State Horse Precinct' enabling tourism development and establishment of a financially self sustaining commercial framework, developed through a Memorandum of Understanding with project partners incorporating a shared vision for the precinct.
The project will enable the completion of business modelling in conjunction with architectural designs to ensure the commercial viability of the Precinct. It will deliver a marketing and financial model for a series of businesses that would be located in the Precinct, as well as financial projections for Horse activity related income streams.
