Change creates Donny‘s future

After the State Government cut business development organisation vivasa’s funding in July last year, former Chief Executive Donny Walford took stock. Donny had 14 job offers for director roles to CEO positions, but says the time wasn’t right to step into another job.
“Winding up an organisation that was really kicking some goals is emotionally and physically exhausting,” she says. During a five-week break to recover from “feeling like a bus ran over me every day”, her partner David urged her to start a business, an idea that soon took root.
As DW Bottom Line Pty Ltd, Donny is positioning herself as a transition strategist. She helps boards and management teams move their organisations to where they need to be in the future.
“I chose the name because everything you do in business has a positive or negative effect on your bottom line. The major focal points of DW Bottom Line are strategic leadership, human resources, marketing and business development,” she says.
“I have an absolute passion for this State, for the Defence industry and for assisting SMEs, particularly family businesses.
“I have a fantastic network built up over many years and it’s both heartening and surprising that so many people want to ensure you are successful so they either give you work or become your PR engine by referring you to others. It’s been absolutely wonderful.”
