Need funding for a pressing need?
The start of another calendar year provides an excellent opportunity for reviewing the progress of business, industry and more strategically, of the economy as a whole.
It’s time to blow the dust off the business plan lying on the top shelf, take out the strategic plan from the bookcase, and to consider growth options, new strategic directions and their funding implications.
A click to the GrantsLINK website (www.grantslink.gov.au) helps find Australian, State and local government grants and funding programs available for individuals, businesses and communities.
Grants can help find solutions to local and national issues, fund ideas and initiatives and provide assistance in times of hardship.
There are more than 250 government grants and funding programs linked to GrantsLINK.
For example, the AusIndustry Product Summary provides an overview of all the business assistance programs AusIndustry delivers while the website link www.business.gov.au offers information and links to grants and other funding programs available from the federal, state, and territory governments - and in some cases from local councils.
Regional Partnerships Program, funded by the Department of Transport and Regional Services, is listed in GrantsLINK under the broader heading of ‘Community and Society’.
The RPP gets a brief summary: “The Australian Government’s approach to regional development is to work in partnerships with communities, government and the private sector to foster the development of self-reliant communities and regions”.
The RPP is a discretionary funding program and requires co-contributions from the proponent and partners in the project.
GrantsLINK and other websites such as Regional Entry Point (www.regionalaustralia.gov.au) allows visitors to search for funding opportunities from other sources.
