Max the key to Wendy‘s globetrotting
Originally named Max, it was renamed Max’s Toolbox. In the USA it is called Scholastic Keys and in Latin American it is called MaxToolbox because they don’t use apostrophes.

In the USA, Keys is published by Tom Snyder Productions (a Scholastic Company) and has jumped into the best sellers list for their dealer sales channel.
Becky Connors, Director of Dealer and Distributor Sales for TSP says, “Usually this takes time, but Keys was a product that our dealers can sell easily. Recently we have launched MaxData which has also been very well received. It is an easy product to explain, to show and to use and makes educator’s time using office with their kids more productive.”
Wendy Kennedy has a mild-mannered office at recruitment firm Electus in Adelaide’s CBD, but global software success entails a bit of travelling.
“In July 2006 we held a Max’s Toolbox conference/workshop in Quito, Ecuador with distributors representing 12 Latin American countries, including Mexico and Brazil,” she says.
“We called the conference Maxito, 2006 because the Latino’s add ‘ito’ to small things and this has become their pet name for the product.
“During our workshops we were able to cover pedagogy, sales techniques, marketing, technical issues, as well as training on product. We looked at case studies and visited a school as well as met with the Minister for Education for Ecuador who was most impressed.
“South America is very conscious of the value of education and current trends are for budgets to be spent in the early years. Most children in countries like Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Bolivia do not attend school past the age of 10 because their families need them to work.
