TACDC sails away with Chinese coup
The Australia China Development Company Pty Ltd is making big waves in Chinese sporting culture, signing a five-year deal to manage a huge watersport gala in Qingdao.
In October 2006 Adelaide-based TACDC successfully managed the second Qingdao Beach and Water Sports Festival, which for the first time included the Qingdao City Wide Sailing Regatta and the Invitational Australia vs. China Beach Volleyball Cup. The Qingdao government estimated more than 200,000 people attended the two-day event and evenings of sporting, entertainment and business-related activities.
In January, TACDC Chairman, Chris Schacht and GM Conan Fahey signed the five-year contract with the Qingdao Sports Bureau to manage the events from 2007 to 2012.
Qingdao and Adelaide have a cooperative city relationship and Shandong Province and SA have a sister state relationship going back 21 years.
The annual Festivals during the October Golden Week Holiday will accompany the Chinese National Day...
