Connecting the Wider Community of South Australians
Earlier this year, SA Great commenced its 'Out of State' program to reconnect with South Australians living out of the state. Since inception, the program has seen SA Great launch a new website - YourSA.com.au, commence building a database of South Australians living outside the state, and travel to Melbourne to hold the organisation's first interstate event.
The 'Out of State' initiative aims to attract younger South Australians back to the state to fill future labour market needs, and provide them with relevant and engaging information about South Australia so that they can act as great ambassadors for our state.
The out of the state activity is a new, positive direction for the organisation and an important development in SA Great's 26 year history.
“The out of state program has felt like a natural progression for the organisation,” said SA Great CEO, Judy Potter.
“Due to our age demographics and also the expansion of industries such as mining and defence, South Australia needs to attract a younger, skilled workforce to fill the needs of our booming industries. The out of state activity is just one of the ways we can look at attracting younger people back to South Australia through targeted communication and events,” she added.
