Gallery innovation is a work of art
With 10 years in business and a move to bright new premises was not enough for Art House Furniture, now of Somerton Park.
The specialist furniture design, manufacturing and restoration enterprise is highlighting the design side of its work with gallery exhibition events of works by noted Australian artists - not something you would expect to find in a light industrial enclave.
In March and April, gallery owners Matthew and Necia Shute staged their second exhibition at the gallery, which doubles as a showroom for their own range of contemporary furniture.
The month-long exhibition featured award-winning Australian artists John Lacey, Pamela Kouwenhoven, Peter Chaplin and Trevor Newman.
Lacey and Chaplin presented urban and rural landscapes, Newman, still life and Kouwenhoven, modern works with a focus on materials in the Australian landscape.
