GrantSmart SA showcases funding opportunities
In response to the Federal Government making $270 million available through the Regional Partnerships Program until June 2010 AMACC and the South Australian network of Area Consultative Committees have planned and conducted GrantSmartSA 2007.
The cooperative showcase held from May 7 to May 10 brought Australian and State government funding opportunities to the attention of community groups, small business, local government and not-for-profit organisations from across the metropolitan and regional areas.
It was also a great opportunity for government departments with grant programs to display their programs to a broad range of potential applicants and learn about the other grants available.
Registrations for the inaugural ACC-hosted GrantSmartSA presentations and Expo held in SA were overwhelming and places filled very quickly. The whole event proved to be exciting and informative for everyone.
The format of GrantSmartSA 2007 saw community groups, other levels of government, businesses, and industry groups seeking access to government funding, meet representatives from the various funding bodies to talk about project ideas and business issues, and network with other businesses and community groups.
There was a series of information sessions on grants available for participants and an area for the display of a wider range of promotional material and information.
