Is Adelaide a place to do business?
Wayne Goss, former Queensland Premier and the Chairman of accounting and consulting firm Deloitte Australia, will give an outsider's perspective at Marketing Week on whether the name Adelaide reflects a place to do business.
A lawyer by profession, Wayne practiced in his own firm for ten years before entering politics as the Leader of the Opposition - a role he held for four years. In 1989 Goss was elected as Premier in a landslide election and held the position for six years, retiring in early 1996.
In 1997 Wayne completed an MBA at the University of Queensland and began consulting in 1998 to Deloitte, Macquarie Bank and Corrs Chambers Westgarth. In 2000 Wayne joined Deloitte as Managing Partner Queensland and in 2005 became Chairman.
He is currently heading up the Government Reform Commission established by the SA Government to review the South Australian Public Service - a task which has given him a close-up view of South Australia's particular challen...
