Driving small business success
Small businesses play a major role in generating economic growth and employment opportunities across South Australia.
There are more than 80,000 small businesses, making up 96 per cent of all businesses in the State. While many of these have considerable growth potential it has become essential for small business operators to be competent in a wide range of areas extending far beyond traditional core business skills.
In order to remain competitive, small businesses are continually faced with the challenges of adapting to changing trends in management, marketing, innovation, human resources and a range of other issues affecting day-to-day business operations.
This is why the State Government launched SA Small Business Month, which has quickly become one of the most important annual activities on the small business calendar.
The desire of small business operators to keep up-to-date with all the latest knowledge and practices that lead to greater efficiency and success is highlighted by the support we have seen for the event.
Launched in 2005, Small Business Month helps small business owners improve their knowledge, share their experience and hone the skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive business environment.
The inaugural Small Business Month attracted 2000 people to the conference, expo and associated events. In 2006, nearly 4000 people attended the conference, expo and events.
