GoodLife pans out well

If award success means anything in food service, GoodLife Organic Pizza is hitting all the right taste buds.
The organic pizza chain, with outlets on Hutt Street Adelaide and Jetty Rd Glenelg, was inducted into the Restaurant & Catering SA Hall of Fame after being named the Best Pizza Restaurant in SA for the fourth consecutive year at the food industry body’s recent Awards for Excellence.
GoodLife is owned by hospitality entrepreneurs Jake, Marty and Mike Greenrod. The brothers opened the current Hutt Street location in 2003 and quickly gained a quality ‘foodie’ reputation. Using organic ingredients as a point of difference appealed to patrons’ growing health consciousness.
“The idea of the restaurant evolved from the size of the space we had to work with, our individual expertise in the hospitality industry and our love of pizza, food and wine,” says Marty.
“We started with four staff, a very skeleton model and possibly the smallest restaurant budget ever.
“Organic food not only comes up better in terms of taste and quality, but it also appeals to consumers looking for healthier choices and a better lifestyle.
“I generally feel consumers are more conscious of the environment, eating healthier and looking after themselves.
“People are more aware of organic (now) and it’s a trend that is going to grow and grow.”
