Radbone delivers good for VIP
It’s hard to keep up with Shane Radbone — the entrepreneur noted for bringing food-service chain Wendy’s back to life has worked his way around Adelaide’s top companies in recent years.
The former Essendon footballer founded Executive Fitness Management at age 20 in 1996 and sold its 25 national outlets in 2000 before joining Wendys. He took Wendys from $75m annual turnover to $120m in five years before moving on to invest in finance company EPAC Salary Solutions.
Now he has taken up the reins at VIP Home Services to help guide the home maintenance service franchise through an important evolutionary phase.
“VIP Home Services has established itself as brand for over 36 years in South Australia. With more than 1000 franchisees and a customer base exceeding 150,000 the opportunities to develop new concepts to meet their needs are unlimited,” Shane says.
It is understood VIP founders Bill and Rose Vis have been exploring options for developing their business for some time and appointing a noted change manager certainly makes sense.
New branding reflects VIP’s focus on environmental responsibility. Franchisees who join the network become ‘members’ who receive benefits through a VIP Card system, such as those from VIP’s strategic alliance with Stihl power tools.
“Due to the tremendous growth over time, VIP Home Services is growing from a family business to a corporately governed organisation,” Shane says.
“This is a transformation in progress and will take another step forward with the appointment of Erik Metanomski, the founder of MMC Asset Management, an investment company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. He joins VIP Home Services in a key strategic consulting capacity.
