Meeting boom may not last, ACTA warns
The Adelaide Convention Tourism Authority has reported its most successful trading period in its 35-year history. Chairman Glenn Cooper noted 44 new events with an estimated economic impact of $95.5 million were won during 2006-2007, a 36% improvement on the past financial year.
But Glenn warns the outstanding result cannot be assumed.
“I need to reiterate that without the funds to match competitors, the current level of performance will not be sustainable,” he says.
