Weslo show highlights
The Weslo Group, which operates the Venue*Tix event sales enterprise, the Thebarton Theatre and provides event security services, has had a spectacular year of its own.
Managing Director Bob Lott says his group turning in its best performance ever in 2006-07, producing three times the EBIT of its previous best year. And the veteran impresario is proud each of the major companies in the Weslo Group achieved milestones.
“Venue*Tix won the right to manage FringeTix, the Fringe Festival’s own ticketing system,” Bob says. “This was a highly successful arrangement for all parties and will be continued in the coming years.
“It also took delivery of a state of the art point of sale system, EventPOS, from The Event Shop Pty Ltd, a South Australian development company with which it has a familial relationship.
“This system has been introduced at this year’s Royal Adelaide Show, giving the client real-time information regarding patron numbers and income.
“With these introductions it is our belief that Venue*Tix has become the major player in ticketing in South Australia.”
The group’s security staff hire service, Weslo Staff, won major contracts for security at the APEC Conference, World Police and Fire Games, and is conducting covert work for major corporate food chains in South Australia.
Weslo Staff also acquired PD Security and has expanded the new division into South Australia’s premier dog patrol company.
“In Weslo Holdings Pty Ltd, the theatre section has seen the perennial favourite, Thebarton Theatre, break all show and attendance records and complete upgrading of artists’ facilities,” Bob says.
“Holden Street Theatres has continued to win the most prestigious of arts awards in SA and the right to manage the Royalty Theatre on behalf of the Adelaide Fringe.”
