Advantage Adelaide as Clarke eyes China
Normally, a growing company chooses to move its head office out of Adelaide – Clarke Energy has done the opposite.
Set up in Australia by its UK parent in 2000, Clarke moved to Adelaide from Melbourne in 2006. The firm’s MD, Greg Columbus, says the move has generated rapid growth for the specialised equipment supplier.
“Clarke Energy is the distributor for GE Jenbacher gas engines and supplies a “Gas to Energy” solutions business,” Greg says. American engineering giant GE is particular about who represents its Jenbacher engine technology, which can burn natural and non-natural gases including landfill gas, BioGas, coal gas and more.
“As distributor of gas engine technology, Clarke Energy offers value-add services such as turnkey design, installation, commissioning and long-term maintenance and operations contracts on the power stations we are involved in.”
