Young South Australia\‘s reaching for the Stars
South Australia’s Rising Stars are an inspiration to all, they represent the success and achievement that can be accomplished right here in South Australia. The 50 hand picked Rising Stars are innovators and leaders in their chosen field and prove that South Australia’s future is bright and filled with prosperity and inspirational achievements.
Steve Marafiote, Managing Director of Australia Quality Plus established his business in South Australia because of the cost of labour, the ability to recruit the right people for the job and most importantly because the people of our state are willing to give you the opportunity.
Steve believes that if you are successful in starting a business in South Australia, you can do business any where in the world. “I saw a niche market for fresh food and just went for it, setting up the business in January 2004 with myself and one employee” said Steve.
Today Steve employs 7 staff to assist with exporting to the Middle East beef, fruit and vegetables, 60% of which is sourced from South Australia.
Whether it is in metropolitan or regional South Australia our State’s young innovators are leading the way. Laura Long, from Coonalpyn in the State’s South East had a strong desire to go to University in Adelaide but also did not want to leave her home town. She decided she wanted to find a way for country kids to get a top-level education without moving to the city.
