BVE comes home
Barossa Valley Estate’s new Marananga winery and cellar-door complex, on an 80-hectare site at Seppeltsfield Road in the heart of the Barossa Valley, was officially opened by Premier Rob Kerin on 5 December.
The new winery gives 50 per cent owner BRL Hardy its first winery and cellar-door presence in the Barossa, giving the SA-based wine group an interest in winery operations in every key Australian winemaking area.
Also involved in the new winery are some of the great and traditional Barossa Valley grape-producing families—names including Kleinig, Pfeiffer, Roennfeldt, Schulz, Rohrlach, Munzberg, Kraehe, Hahn, Lowke, Kalleske and Hoffmann.
For the past 16 years, BVE’s 80 grower members have been transporting their grapes from the Barossa to their Angle Vale winery. Marananga at last brings their winemaking facility home.
