Consulting that C.A.R.E.S.
Intec Consulting Group is a South Australian—based IT consulting firm that has a reputation for delivering innovative services to clients that are customer—focused and produce a quality outcome. This was evident in ICG’s recent development and implementation of the C.A.R.E.S. system (Complaints and Reports of Environmental Significance) for the Environment Protection Agency (EPA).
C.A.R.E.S. is an Internet/Intranet application designed for use by EPA staff and Local Government Authority (LGA) Councils. It allows environment officers at the EPA and councils to record, manage and report complaints made by members of the public in relation to the Environment Protection Act. C.A.R.E.S. integrates with the EPA’s core business application for data exchange. It is a three—tier browser—based application built using Java, Borland Application Server, CORBA, XML and Oracle.
C.A.R.E.S. is used to capture incidents relating to the Environment Protection Act. It provides the functionality for the incident to be entered into the application at the time of reporting by either a council or EPA officer across the Internet. This reduces the need for paper advice of incidents and results in better control, tracking and resolution of reported incidents received by the EPA or a council.
