Success in the Mix
With tenants ranging from graphic designers to radiologists, the Adelaide City Business Centre is one of SA’s most dynamic and diverse small business incubators.
One of the driving forces behind the rejuvenation of Hindley Street, the Centre currently has 23 tenants and, judging by the number of recent enquiries, it’s set to become even more popular in 2002.
Established in January last year, the Centre is run by the Eastern Enterprise Development Agency (EEDA).
Manager Kym Pedler said Adelaide City Business, located above the Greater Union Cinema complex, had proved popular with small business owners looking for a professional, affordable alternative to the home office.
“Our aim is to make the transition from home office to a professional business base in the Adelaide CBD an affordable proposition,” Mr Pedler said.
“We offer flexible monthly rentals, high speed broadband internet connections, a reception service, access to meeting rooms, 24—hour access and a monitored security system.
“Tenants also have access to free business and mentoring advice, and we’re committed to helping our tenants grow their business.”
Tenants range from information technology businesses to management consultants, such as Monica Redden who joined the Centre in June 2001.
“I worked from home for over five years and the move to ACB was a deliberate decision to help me create a distinction between work and play,” she said.
