billion dollar grads stick together
After more than 22 years of good work, SA Enterprise Workshop remains one of our business community’s quiet achievers.
It is still a not-for-profit undertaking, still well attended, and it is still fostering strong team spirit among the 900 graduates who have gained their entrepreneurial skills there.
The workshop posts an impressive ‘scorecard’: by 2001 its graduates had generated more than $1 billion in revenue and $100 million in profits, in the process creating employment for 5,000 people. Graduates’ annual business has been estimated at a surprising 3 per cent of the gross state product.
Enterprise Workshop is sponsored by Business SA, the Engineering Employers Association of SA and The Centre for Innovation, Business and Manufacturing (CIBM). Students include employed managers, teams nominated by their employers and entrepreneurially minded individuals.
