radisson playford sets record occupancy levels
Adelaide’s Radisson Playford Hotel and Suites recorded the highest occupancy rates for any five star hotel in Australia during the 2001 calendar year—an average of 89.1 per cent.
Despite the impact of the September 11 terrorist attacks and the collapse of Ansett, the 182-guest room Radisson Playford increased its yearly average occupancy rate from 68.2 per cent in 2000 to 89.1 per cent in 2001, its third full year of operation.
Steve Finlayson, the Hotel’s director of sales and Marketing, says yield has also increased by between 10 and 15 per cent for the year.
“Occupancy rates during weekdays often peaked at 100 per cent as a result of significant behind the scenes work with our airline partners, the Casino and Festival Centre as well as a high level of customer loyalty,” he said.
