For Adelaide to maintain and improve its already high standard of living, our fast growing ‘knowledge-age’ manufacturing industries will have to replace traditional manufacturing industries that are under relentless pressure from low-cost overseas competitors.
Adelaide has a vibrant mix of ‘knowledge-based’ industries, including aerospace, biotechnology, electronics, information technology, and telecommunications. In 2007 these industries collectively produced revenue of $7 billion and today employ more than 26,000 well-trained and well-paid South Australians.
