Industry support drives C2C dynamo
Industry is leading the way in vital workforce development programs aimed at boosting SA’s pool of skilled tradespeople.
In the Northern Advanced Manufacturing Industry Group’s Concept2Creation, or C2C Program, schools and industry in the northern suburbs are engaging students’ interest in the sciences with industry experience and assistance as they create their own projects.
Students and industry work together to solve a problem that requires a product or service. Industry mentors help students take the product from concept through R&D to production and quality assurance to the final creation and marketing. Project progress is linked to what the students are doing in their science classes.
C2C has Federal and State funding and has been running for almost three years. It now involves 13 primary and secondary schools in the north and more than 1000 students have participated to date. The 2007 C2C Expo in November was an impressive event and it’s ...
