Public design shapes private thinking
Plunging into the commercial property environment isn’t providing the culture shock one might imagine for former City of Adelaide Urban Design expert, Thea Sarris, who has joined architectural firm, JPE as Associate Director and champion of Urban Design outcomes.
Involved in a series of high-profile public space projects including the Rundle Lantern and several master plans for the City, Thea added significant value to the Tram Project. She has brought a unique influence to JPE’s private sector projects.
“I have had an close relationship with the Adelaide community, and the people and activities that create the City environment due to my (former) role,” says Thea. “Conversely, JPE is a private architectural design firm but with more than 150 years of significant contributions to city living through their design of several landmark buildings including the Adelaide Railway Station and the Samuel Way Building.
