Repo man of mystery
It seems like the stuff of TV drama, but National Recoveries & Investigations principal Simon Whitely is reluctant to pose for a photograph - it might be counterproductive for someone who goes undercover from time to time.
NRI, an in-business Fast Mover, was formed in 1999 and Simon is dedicated to providing “the highest possible level of service, results and technology in collection, repossession, skip tracing and bailiff work in Australia”.
NRI’s principals have been licensed in their field since 1989 and formed the AusCollect group, which operates nationwide, in 2001.
For obvious reasons contacting NRI is by appointment only. As well as a home office in Adelaide the firm maintains agent bases in Naracoorte, Mt Gambier, Murray Bridge, Renmark, Pt Lincoln and Pt Augusta.
Simon says gaining industry recognition as “a leading, nationally placed, bailiff-orientated agency with key interstate-based clients” has been a key outcome of the past year and he’s pleased NRI has lifted its market share significantly interstate.
Recognition as a Fast Mover by in-business is welcome acknowledgment of progress.
“And we have successfully negotiated some ‘rough seas’ created by a large international competitor new to our niche industry, without losing face with our clientele,” Simon says.
“Our continued drive to provide excellence in service and results above our competitors and the ability to utilise and mould technology to suit our specific purposes have advanced that cause.
“Our most profitable business remains our core business of motor vehicle repossessions where we have developed cutting-edge methods of managing that business type.”
Simon says NRI’s growth was not particularly planned.
“Rather, precise targets - timetabling - are placed and the overriding focus is always to reach the target,” he says. “The rest follows through automatically.”
