Skills buildup starts with passion
Technology training firm SAGE Didactic has
come up with a new way to get production lines
rolling faster.
Students from Unley High School, Seaview High School, Reynella East High School, Hamilton Secondary College, Immanuel College and Cardijn College will visit Didactic’s Melrose Park facility for the Targeted Technology Introduction Module package.
Announcing the partnerships in February, Didactic CEO Peter Dawson said TTIM promoted engineering career options to students, their teachers and their parents and response had been “astonishing”.
“We originally developed the module as a pilot program with St Peters College two years ago and only mid last year began approaching other schools across SA to gauge their interest in including it for 2008.
A division of robotics manufacturer SAGE Automation, Didactic teaches students to install, use and maintain the technology necessary for modern engineering work.
“Skills being developed have broad applications
and are in demand across all industry sectors,”
Peter says.
Schools and training institutions have expressed interest in TTIM as a useful first step.
“It provides the students with a strong head-start along the path of an exciting and rewarding technology-based trade or professional career in any industry,” Peter says, noting Didactic is among the first users in Australia to access new technology.
