Little red label goes overseas

Another SA fashion designer is set to make noise overseas. Melanie Garland, owner and designer of fashion label, Little Potty Red Shoes launched her first collection in the US in April.
The brand was established in 2004 after Melanie opened fashion boutique Locco on Rundle Street retailing fashion that was unique but affordable.
“I started Little Potty Red Shoes to supply my retail business with exclusive, quirky product and soon realised there were other retailers that wanted the same thing,” Melanie says.
Establishing the name - it’s one her grandfather gave her - she has put in hard yards overcoming the disadvantage of new fabrics becoming available earlier in the eastern states and pushing her deadlines hard.
