Opening up employment options for business
Despite the highly competitive nature of the employment market, many potential candidates still fall through the cracks and the opportunity for employers to take on motivated and skilled staff is missed. Open employment services support people with a disability, learning difficulty or mental illness to find work and provide considerable benefits
for employers.
Personnel Employment, a division of Barkuma Incorporated, is one of South Australia’s leading open employment service providers and is now running an uncapped program. The program’s manager, Brenna Schroeder, said while it has not been operating long enough to provide statistical evidence of the benefits, there were already positive trends for retention and staff motivation.
