New mining HQ shows its energy
Booming growth in the SA resources industry is driving growth in the peak industry association, the South Australian Chamber of Mines and Energy.
SACOME appointed two new staff last financial
year and expects to appoint another four this year,
which prompted a move from its long-standing Greenhill Road headquarters.
Last month Mineral Resources Development Minister, Paul Holloway opened the new Mines and Energy House at 290 Glen Osmond Road with some 60 members of the resources sector and service providers to the sector attending. The new HQ is hosting an increasing
number of seminars and industry networking events
for members.
SACOME is also speaking out on hot button issues. The Chamber released a major consortium study earlier this year which warned Government the State’s burgeoning hard rock and energy sector needed “crucial decisions now” on the necessary infrastructure to service massive industry growth.
